Welcome, it's been a while since I published anything new on our site but as you can see I've been working on a new format; I hope you like it.

The gallery will give you a sampling of my work in a variety of media. Within the pages you will find representational paintings in watercolor, oil, pastel and casein. The subject matter ranges from landscapes and flora of the Sonoran desert to boating scenes of Maine.

Lately I have included the human form in my compositions, and find this direction to be stimulating and challenging. Much more to come in this area.

Included in the site is a page on watercolor techniques. I have re-written the procedure, which now gives more information on materials and hopefully makes it easier to paint along. I would appreciate your comments as I will be adding more painting techniques to the site.

I have produced a few new pastel paintings this year and have decided to reproduce them as limited edition Giclee prints. The prints have been crafted to high archival standards. I am very confident in their superior image and preservation quality.

I prefer alabaster as my carving material. The stone was use by the ancient Egyptians especially to produce perfume bottles. It is commonly translucent or a milky white but various mineral traces give other colors, including yellow, orange, red, brown, grey and black. It is relatively soft and easy to carve and polish.

In addition to stone carvings, which are mostly abstract sculpture, I also model figures in clay. The finished ceramic piece is bisque fired and a patina applied. My most recent work has been a series of figurative bronze dancers, available in limited editions.

Later on this site, I include notes and photos on the alabaster carving process and techniques that I use. I am also preparing an illustrated article on the bronze casting process.

My current sculptures are suitable for indoor display, and would accentuate and enhance an interior design.

Commissions are welcome. Workshops in alabaster carving and watercolor painting techniques are held at the studio. Please Email me for further information.
